Merry Christmas!

  It has been a very busy December for us!  As mentioned previously, we have appointed acting Directors in Police, Fire and City Attorney. The Fire Chief position has now been advertised for a couple of weeks and we have received over 30 applications. The Mayor’s Office will begin the vetting process after the first of the year and will bring us qualified candidates to interview. The Police Chief position should be advertised within the next couple of weeks and the same vetting process will occur. Off to a Busy Start

  Hello friends. Your new City Council members are off to a busy start. Since being sworn in we have had two Council meetings and an all day workshop on Ethics Training with the Alabama League of Municipalities. This was a very informative session and filled us to the brim with pertinent facts and rules and laws regarding our office.   So far in Council session we have named an acting Police Chief (Major Jim Cooke), acting Fire Chief (Deputy Chief Brandy Williams) and acting City Attorney (Ms. Megan Zingarelli). My First Week

As I begin my four-year term there are goals that I hope to achieve for Madison and specifically, for District 1. It is my hope and prayer that I will make a difference in District 1 in the next four years. My goals are to effectively and efficiently communicate events and activity such as traffic concerns to District 1 specifically, and for anyone in Madison who may desire the information. Thank You District 1!

Thank you to the voters of District 1 for voting me in to office to represent you. It was a long seventeen weeks of walking the many subdivisions that border District 1. From Park Meadow in the southeast corner to Walden in the southwest corner to Applewood and Franklin Station/Georgetown square in the northwest and to the apartment communities in the northeast I knocked on almost every door once and several two or three times.
