September Update 2017

As I have mentioned previously, I am going to try and provide information as often as I can concerning the heroin/opioid epidemic. There was a walk this past Saturday, September 9th at 9 am at Big Springs Park in Huntsville in support for raising awareness for the opioid epidemic that we have in our nation, state and city. August Update 2017

Hello everyone and welcome to the end of summer. School starts this week for Madison City Schools and I wish students and their teachers an enriching and fulfilling school year! Traffic Speaking of school, the Mill Creek Bridge reopening will be delayed. We had hoped it would be open for the new school year this week but Mother Nature had other plans unfortunately. Two heavy rainstorms at the worst possible times have resulted in a delay of approximately 30 days. June Update

A busy summer continues for your City Council and Mayor’s Office. At our June 12th City Council meeting, we will appoint Deputy Chief Dave Jernigan as our new Police Chief. Dave and his family have been residents of Madison for 22 years and he is both committed and invested in our city. Chief Jernigan has been the Deputy Chief for the Madison County Sheriff’s Department for several years and previously worked for the FBI for the majority of his career.
