May Update 2017

It has been a busy spring so far for Council and the Mayor’s Office. Tonight at our City Council meeting Mayor and Council welcomed Chief David Bailey to the Madison family as our new Fire Chief. Chief Bailey brings a wealth of experience including over 36 years with the Chesterfield County Fire and EMS in Virginia (with 485 personnel) serving as Dispatcher, Firefighter, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Director of Training and Safety, Administrative Officer and 10 years as Battalion Chief. Spring has Sprung!

The weather is beautiful outside and it is great to see the flowers starting to bloom and hear the birds chirping. I always seem to hold my breath though for one more freeze right before Easter. We have had a month of great news! Madison was named one of the safest cities in Alabama by The National Council for Home Safety and Security. March Roars in like a Lion

It is the first part of March and the weather continues to fluctuate. We’ve had both warm days and cold days and the flowers aren’t quite sure what to make of it all. Hopefully everything will balance out as we enter Daylight Savings Time this Saturday night/Sunday morning. Happy New Year!

Hello friends, your Madison City Council and Mayor’s Office is off to a busy New Year! I have received my Departments and Liaisons for 2017. My Council appointments for City Departments are Police and Fire. I look forward to working with and supporting these two key departments to the best of my ability. As you know, we have an acting Police Chief (Major Jim Cooke) and an acting Fire Chief (Deputy Chief Brandy Williams).
